God Wants You to Know Terrible App
Never Argue With An Idiot
Warning: Spoilers
A dark stormy night . Rain and landslides take blocked a remote land road and a Highway patrolman informs drivers they have a long about detour . The simply building in the area is a diner and a handful of drivers finish and ask for something to eat and drink . The person serving at the diner is called Jesus and informs them he can go them something to eat but the merely drinks he tin can serve is water
However another Christian propaganda film made considering if you make enough eccelestical movies that will somehow prove there is a God and an afterlife . This isn't every bit bad as the poisonous bile that was THE MOMENT AFTER and its sequel only is far more minimalist and therefore tedious featuring finer one set up and a scattering of not very skillful actors , information technology'due south no less simplistic than any other Christian moving-picture show pushing an agenda
One internal statement Christians wrestle with is " If God exists then why does he allow bad things to happen ? " The whole function of THE Come across is to gather a handful of literary devices and stick them in a setting where the statement can have place . At that place'south no subtlety or sophistication to any of this . The audience are asked to literally believe this bloke backside the counter is the Biblical Jesus and the literary devices are used every bit a sounding lath to ask " Well Jesus something bad is happening in my life and so delight explain to me why are y'all existence so barbarous ? " . At that place is no God so that volition respond a few searching questions . Where I'll give this film some small credit and if I was present in this diner I'd exist asking " Why do you permit then many atrocities to take place in your name ? " and this is effectively what one of the sounding boards ask and Jesus replies that he doesn't ask for actions like abortion clinics to be bombed . Fair enough and scripture doesn't enquire for that but when asked about genocide against Canaanites which does announced in the Old Testament Jesus gets out of this by a rambling respond that he's a God of love . Aye we've all heard about these priests wanting to share their dear with choirboys haven't we ?
The other arguments don't stand upwards to any scrutiny and it's amazing what y'all tin can get abroad with if yous constantly say " God loves you " to an uncritical audition . One thing Jesus as seen here needs educating on is the selfish nature of homo beings . We're merely vessels to carry our Dna in society to go along the species going . If you're on a sinking send and you grab the merely lifejacket letting someone else drown yous're committing a selfish act simply at the same fourth dimension by surviving as an individual you lot're potentially helping the species to survive . We have an inbuilt survival instinct hence the amoral aspect of man nature . Likewise our obsession with sexual practice . All this is easily explained - nosotros're carriers of Deoxyribonucleic acid , and a belief in God is merely simply downwards to cultural conditioning

Bruce Marchiano plays Jesus
Bruce Marchiano plays Jesus in The Encounter. For Christians, this is a must meet motion-picture show. For non-Christians, still you should watch information technology for sure, as the movie draws you lot in to the shattering climax of God v Satan.

Plays out like more of a sermon followed by testimonials then a movie. Great for the deeply religious.
"I've known you since earlier y'all were born and I have a plan for each of you. A perfect programme, all you have to practise is believe in me." When a severe tempest washes out a road five strangers are left stranded with no where to get. They all decide to back-track to a diner on the side of the road to wait information technology out. When they show upwardly the human (Marchiano) working behind the counter claims to be Jesus and sets put to prove it. I have to outset by maxim that this is not so much a motion-picture show as it is a sermon. Jesus goes from person to person telling each one what he did to help them in their hour of need and why they should listen to him. There is one person who refuses to believe and questions Jesus throughout the movie. All that said the motion-picture show actually just felt like going to church and listening to a priest tell you why yous should believe followed past a string of testimonials. If you are into the hard-core Christian movies and so this one is for yous. I consider myself fairly religious but this was style too preachy for me. Overall, a movie fabricated for those questioning themselves or to be used as a didactics tool. Since this didn't play out like a movie I won't give it a grade though.

Feel-practiced moving picture!
The constant use of 'God' and 'Jesus' became a little bit overbearing. Ultimately, though, the film delivers a powerful bulletin - not merely from a religious perspective.
I enjoyed the setting in the diner on a dark and stormy night. I enjoyed the various characters. The acting in general was very good. Bruce Marchiano, especially, was believable every bit Jesus. He certainly sold the graphic symbol to me. We also run across Steve Borden (wrestling star Sting) in a very different role, which he does wonderfully.
Whether your religious (Christian in detail) or non, this is a feel-good, inspirational film (despite being i-dimensional).

Seems to be irksome, just it'due south kind of enjoyable.
The Encounter is something that amazed me. When I watched this movie, I didn't await that much. I didn't await it wouldn't be boring. But when I watched this motion picture, I was amazed that information technology wasn't slow film even though in that location's nothing much in the story and as well it's so plain. I think the managing director is so skillful, so, the motion-picture show didn't turn out to exist a dull motion picture.
The story is then simple, only it made me to go along to spotter it. If someone asked me to point out a motion picture with simple film, just non turned out to be a ho-hum film, I would definitely tell this is the 1. When I watched this film, I was fully awake and this film made me stay awake although this movie seems to be naught. After the film's finished, I thought its not so bad fifty-fifty though all the characters did is talking.
All in all, information technology is the only one with the simple plot but information technology'due south a fine motion-picture show that I watched.

Hither is one for the shelf
Many a times we blest with Christian movies that take y'all down a path of character change, showing yous the force of belongings on to faith and never letting become.
With movies like Facing the Giant and Fireproof, these movies touched the lives of many by setting for them examples in which they could follow but The Run into is different. The flick simply deals on remembrance, here is a moving-picture show that the master Grapheme is Jesus himself (played by Bruce Marchiano) and all his is trying to do is to make people think that he has always been with them and to brand them understand that all that they take been facing in life was leading to this moment, where he volition call them to live the darkness and come into the low-cal.
The movie does star Jaci Velasquez, who is a notable Pop and Gospel vocalist, I actually expected mediocrity from her but I have to say that her acting was quite good plenty for me to respect and say that was dandy. As well in the picture is the wrestler Sting (Steve Borden), who has publicly declared that he is a Born Once more Christian. Sting who has already had many acting experience his interim was in a way caput over shoulders in a higher place everyone.
Merely the Character that gets your grin is the man who played Jesus (Bruce Marchiano) he did a adept job his smile was just beautiful.
The picture plot is about 5 people all heading downwardly a road manner when a storm caused them all to divert and stay in a diner, where they met a human being who claimed he was Jesus. His merits stood equally he was able to tell each one intimate hush-hush nearly them. The 5 people were: 1. Kayla, who is a runaway teenager that Hank refused to option even afterward he heard a still pocket-sized phonation telling him to. 2. Hank, who is a God fearing Christian but he allows his married woman to accept control of his life and his marriage 3. Catherine, who is Hank'southward wife, she is a controlling lady that wants to get out Hank and chase after something she will never have iv. Melissa, who was heading to become see her boyfriend, hoping to receive a proposal, she as well is a born again Christian like Hank and she obeyed the phonation and picked upwardly Kayla. 5. Nick, he is a self fabricated millionaire who doesn't want to have annihilation to do with God.
Like virtually Christian movies the antagonist is the devil. The picture show did have some flaw in the cinematography area, but y'all practise accept to cut them some slack, equally most Christian motion-picture show makers have to source for finances independently, but that is not saying that what is worth doing is not worth doing well. The cinematography is a low 4/x.
What tin I say, a good Christian movie to me is one which I am able to larn something from, hither I learned that all sin has their root in pride and that God has placed in front of the states the path of love and worship and the degree which nosotros can feel this love is the caste in which we are willing to bend to his will.

Deeply Flawed Depression Budget "Christian" Moving-picture show.
This is a securely flawed movie, and the biggest one is that Jesus says: "And then if anyone says to you, 'Look, hither is the Christ!' or 'At that place!' exercise not believe information technology. 24 For false christs and false prophets will ascension and bear witness nifty signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect. 25 See, I have told y'all beforehand."
This is the main problem I had with the film, other than that the story is adequately solid, and yes, if you're a Christian, you'd better take that scripture seriously, the Bible certainly doesn't give a caveat for creative license and entertainment, that is an absurd thought.
Because of the above scripture, NO bodily Christian should recommend this motion-picture show, but if you insist on watching information technology anyway, sympathise that only because you retrieve I'm wrong, is irrelevant, the Bible is clear. A movie based on the notion that a guy claims to be Jesus, and purports to be a Christian movie is inherently unBiblical and therefor, garbage in terms of what it teaches theologically/doctrinally, no matter the other merits it has. Contrary to this belief that Christians shouldn't exercise doctrine that is currently being perpetuated, our organized religion is based on the Bible, and if you cull to throw out portions of information technology for your own personal views, I would question your faith in the Jesus of the Bible, or at least if you even actually believe the Bible rather than the ideas in your ain caput.
A few notes on some aspects of the picture show.
The interim is non great, it is definitely average at best, and the budget is definitely $0 or not far above. Ane of the things I remember is crawly what Christians often do with such a small budget. It could exist a lot better, and certainly if the human at the diner didn't actually claim to be Jesus, obviously information technology would fix virtually everything. Why not just have a bunch of people stuck at a diner and they ACTUALLY talk about the Bible and the real gospel? Novel idea there.
I enjoyed the story despite it'south flaws and enjoyed it's erroneous bulletin, and I recall it is of import to call up that a moving picture that presents any theology, amusement, should non be summit priority, or y'all will always terminate up with very bad results on the hole.
God Bless ~Amy

My verdict? A resounding "Meh."
The premise is intriguing, simply from the beginning, this was clearly Hallmark card territory.
We're introduced to some stock characters: the Couple That Have Grown Apart, the Sad But Tough Runway, the Materialistic Businessman, the Woman Who Settles for Less.
Spooky music tells us that something is afoot every bit the rain pummels them in their cars (except for the runaway, who is hitch-hiking). A washed-out bridge leaves them stranded together in a diner run by none other than Jesus.
Jesus freaks them out past serving only water to drink, merely food is another thing. Cue Arlo Guthrie: You lot can go anything y'all want at Jesus's eating house. Jesus knows what yous want, both on the plate and out of life. He preaches Joel Olstein Low-cal. The characters substitution dialog out of a "How To Witness to Unbelievers" comic book.
That's where I lost involvement and stopped watching.
Hallmark Channel fans, and readers of "Chicken Soup for the Soul," will probably enjoy this. Those looking for meatier fare won't find it in this diner.

Enjoyable - try information technology
The Encounter is a prissy piece of independent Christian cinema. Information technology doesn't star Sir Lawrence Olivier or boast a cast of thousands. The low budget production values clearly show but they don't distract. The bandage is not sterling and the script could have used another typhoon or two. Still, the movie was decent and thoughtful and generally enjoyable.
At that place isn't any violence or obscenity or sex in it. That's a welcome relief these days. You can actually sit down downward and spotter it with the kids and not cringe.
If y'all like a serenity Christian movie that will leave you feeling skillful and slightly more apprehensive, this should fit the beak nicely.

Great Christian movie. Skillful Cast. 2 thumbs Upward
1 November 2016: I saw this flick twice, yesterday and one time iii years agone. The bandage is adept, the story line is good. God is a Holy Spirit and God came in human form as Jesus Christ (Yeshua) to forgive usa, salve usa and die for us.
My ii favorite actors playing Jesus Christ / Yeshua is Diogo Morgado and Bruce Marchiano. Bruce does a practiced task as Jesus an ordinary human being, who is proved to be Non ordinary.
I liked this movie from start to finish. I was happy that near the cease, Jesus finally showed a chip of ability over Satan in the café when Satan after convincing "Steve Borden every bit Nick Crusher Crushetti to follow him, Satan said "that's one for me." In a flicker Jesus lets Satan know who is still in control and who has the ability.
Jaci Velasquez and the rest of the cast is adequately okay. The best supporting cast was player, Jaime Nieto and actress Dinah Williams.
I give this pic 2 thumbs up.

Great Message with Original Presentation
If you lot are the type who hates all things Christian, hates Christ, you should most definitely watch this movie. Even if you still end upwards rejecting Christ's bulletin, well, at least you will take been notified once again of His message. If on the other hand, this movie brings you lot to Christ, well Glory be to Jesus ! That'due south one more :)
What I liked virtually near this moving picture is that it delves down deep into heady topics, especially suffering. And the question "why does God allow suffering?" It tackles the subject of Pride and the subject field of Sin, and the broken nature of this world. Basically all the important problems we all face, issues that are regularly brushed bated by smug humanists of our day who believe human being should consult man when resolving crises CAUSED By MAN, all the while ignoring the nature of human: Sin. A process that proves futile everyday in our lives every bit evidenced by the obvious current state of the earth. This movie endeavors to chip away at the facade of humanism and all its failures, falsehoods and wickedness. This film's bulletin does a pretty skillful job to this finish.
The picture itself is no masterpiece. It's a low budget film that showcases Christ's bulletin, not man's useless message. This motion picture volition never be embraced by the world considering the world hates Christ, e'er has. No swell mystery to a Christian. This movie does not showcase or market that which the world deifies. This motion picture does not include special effects, endless scenery shot in or at far flung places all over the world, information technology does non include in information technology's casting marquee Hollywood Actors who are off doing God knows what type of evil, at that place are no murder scenes, nudity, drugs or alcohol corruption, nobody gets shot, violence is non glamorized, and nobody calls anybody a racist throughout the entire picture show!! So yeah....Hollywood'south fingerprints are not anywhere near this picture show.
Bank check it out. Strongly recommend to Christians and non-Christians akin.
God Bless!

Good Film With Cracking Message that Will Uplift the Believer, Draw In the Seeker, Beal the Hater
This motion-picture show covers the heady topics of Pride, Suffering, Sin and Brokeness in a very poignant just likewise uplifting way.
It certainly broaches topics that the graphic symbol Nick, and some of the agreeing reviewers hither (the haters) would prefer not be discussed. It's almost as if they are possessed the style in which they spew venom at the mere mention of Christ'due south message.
All of this and a lot more is covered in this movie.
I highly recommend this movie.

An astonishing motion picture that will suspension y'all and build yous up again!
Alert: Spoilers
WOW! i totally loved this motion-picture show. Its nigh a agglomeration of strangers all meeting in a diner and beingness served by God. The motion-picture show is an centre opener for sure and is a must encounter for believers and those new the organized religion or seeking answers alike. The human being behind the counters wears a Jesus name tag and calls everyone by name and knows intimate details of their past, nowadays and even future. I thought the acting and dialogue was great - not as well over the top or extra dramatic.
In the mix we take a couple where the wife wants to leave her husband, a runaway teen girl, a adult female driving 400 miles to encounter her young man and potential fiancé and a rich eating house franchise owner played past WCW wrestling gnaw - Sting!
The land trooper that stops the people midway (saying the road is flooded/damaged) and sends them to the diner - we acquire later is Officeholder De Ville or Devil. The Devil ultimately claims Sting since he chooses to not accept god's love and grace and follows foolishly afterwards the devil to his death.
The important have out is that God is ever watching and is always looking to talk to usa through that lil voice in our heart and mind.

Decent Christian movie
This is a decent Christian film based around a lot of dialogue in a small diner. It discusses certain aspects of Protestant Christianity like how salvation is a free gift, only it doesn't cover everything. It's a solid film to bear witness at an evangelistic meeting or something like that. Because the film is based on dialogue with little action, it can exist a bit boring at times. I retrieve I closed my eyes and nigh fell comatose for a couple minutes nearly the end. I guess I adopt a moving-picture show like Left Behind more than.
I had modest expectations, simply I idea the acting was surprisingly solid. I didn't realize the football guy was played by the wrestler Sting (Steve Borden) until later on I watched it. Plainly, he is a Christian.

This was meant to exist a horror movie, right?
Alarm: Spoilers
This film tells the story of a group of strangers that find themselves at a roadside diner with a mysterious stranger (SPOILER: He'southward actually Jesus!!!). They all then proceed to... talk... just talk... that'due south it... for the entire film. Information technology's exactly as listen numbingly boring equally information technology sounds. However, if you watch it under the assumption that it was written equally a slasher horror, but the director turned out to be too much of a wimp to really film the murder scenes, it really kind of works and makes it at least remotely entertaining. Otherwise, information technology'due south zilch more than a series of vaguely ominous conversations that lead to absolutely nothing.

Started off pretty absurd, got preachy fast
I accept to say in full disclosure that I'g a Wiccan and not a Christian, so my review won't exist colored by the subject matter.
The acting in this film was mediocre at best. The "Jesus" in this motion-picture show was much more heavy-handed than the Jesus I retrieve reading about in the Bible. Too, I have a hard fourth dimension imagining Jesus making someone'south car not beginning just so he is role of a "captive audience".
My other beefiness was how easily "Jesus" became an apologist for the Former Testament genocides. (Hint: when Bronze Age warlords burned villages to the ground, they commonly gave God the credit afterward). The Jesus of the Bible, being a quasi-socialist pacifist, is unlikely to have approved of the rampant murder of whole populations whose only crime was worshiping God in a unlike way.
This was a pretty unspectacular Christ story.

Overall non a bad film
I started watching this moving picture and I was thinking OK typical Christian movie all heart and bad interim. The acting was not as bad as facing the Giants although i put it backside Facing the Giants considering it had a better theme. No i am not a die-hard Christian fanatic although i do enjoy some of the movies that are put out at that place considering they put me back in my place.
The basic concept of the movie is five people end upwardly getting sidetracked by the devil considering of flooding and become sent dorsum to a diner where Jesus is trying to relieve each individual from going down the wrong path. The movie overall had a keen concept but it got a piffling too deep on the organized religion side although i practice understand the reasoning merely it got pushed over the top a trivial. I rank this a 7 out of Ten and i put Fireproof, Facing the Giants, and To Relieve a Life ahead of this small treasure of a picture show.

Sounds sappy and cliche, just it changed my life
I remember start watching this movie on the first mean solar day of 2013. I was going through some issues with how I saw God. I was so preoccupied with how the world was falling apart that I was asking myself how can He just stand up all around us and let us do information technology. That'due south when this movie came into my life. When I needed to empathise how Jesus truly is. Now, I unremarkably hate Christian targeted movies considering they lack in quality, they are and so platitude and they feel similar they're trying to hit y'all over the head with a Bible. But this one is so simple and elegant. It touches upon many questions that non-believers and even believers akin take. I as left in tears (which does non happen hands) with every reply of Jesus. The histrion who played the skilful shepherd was a good pick in my opinion as he exuded that peace and beloved that God has for each one of us. I practice recommend this picture regardless of denomination and religious orientation if you want to understand what God really is like.

Propaganda That Should Be Offensive To Everybody
Warning: Spoilers
As somewhat of an Agnostic who accept nothing against Christian movies on principal, I yet found this to be a offensively bad, poorly made and biased propaganda piece that did the complete opposite of what it tried to do.
The motion picture centers effectually a small grouping of different people who discover themselves on a forest road in the middle of nowhere, only to find that the master road they are traveling has been airtight down due to a storm. Instead they all detour to a side road to find a diner to have shelter in, only to find out that the guy owning it is in fact Jesus. Then he starts to grill them nigh their hidden night pasts in an effort to rekindle their faith.
Now this concept in of itself could maybe take worked if it was played subtly. For example, if it was left ambiguous whether or not this man is truly Jesus or not. Perhaps take the protagonists open up upwardly virtually themselves in believable ways by their own will to create an actual on-screen human relationship betwixt them, and to give real weight to their decisions to alter their ways. Instead, we have Jesus practically forcing his mode into their minds and threatening them with eternal damnation, while acting similar a directly up sociopathic serial killer and stalker.
I tin't stress this enough, this is the single worst portrayal of Jesus on movie I have always seen, fifty-fifty worse than Jesus Christ Vampire Hunter, and that portrayal was intended to exist bad for the sake of comedy. He plays on people'due south pains and fears to dispense them, going as far as to force a girl to forgive her sexually abusive dad with threats of eternal damnation and an awful hereafter life, and literally demands the people in the diner to bend to his will. I idea Jesus was supposed to love everybody and ask people to love him back on their own free will?
Information technology doesn't help that the protagonists in this movie are all bland stock characters with dull, lifeless interim bringing them to life either. We got our obligatory harbinger Atheist, the bickering couple contemplating divorce, the troubled girl who is losing her faith due to trauma and the born again Christian who is basically already in Jesus' skilful graces. Just she is ordered to leave her boyfriend anyways considering information technology amuses Jesus and considering her boyfriend isn't Christian. None of them experience like real people except for the straw Atheist character, who surprisingly seem to human activity somewhat rationally to begin with exterior of being a massive jerk, before eventually succumbing to the granary.
Gluing this story of abuse and misquoting of religious text together is also some really shoddy technical work, that at times is at the levels of a home picture. Cheap stock thunder effects, tons of noticeable continuity errors, an obvious domicile camera that is carried by the camera operator most of the time, and a sound designer that thinks panning dialogue entirely to the left speaker is somehow a good thought. It looks and feels cheap and amateurish, even for a low upkeep product.
In the end it's hard to even describe what happens in this moving picture, considering it is only really an hour and a half of incredibly uncomfortable or ridiculous interviews with paper thin characters existence interrogated by some sort of existence claiming to be Jesus. Quite frankly, if it wasn't for the fact that Satan appears in the moving picture towards the end (named DeVille, because information technology's that sort of picture) I would accept expected the big last twist to be that this is Satan pretending to exist Jesus or something.
At the end of the 24-hour interval, the movie is terrible not because it is Christian, but because it'southward a moving picture that tries to scare non believers and people like me, who detect themselves caught between camps, to repent. Hell, the film itself states this outright. As such, information technology non only ends up as an absolutely dreadful viewing experience (unless you riff it the entire time), but also a disservice to religion as a whole. It unknowingly paints Christianity as an evil forcefulness that is just marginally meliorate than the declared damnation you would face otherwise, rather than the positive force in somebody's life it's intended to be.
The only positive matter I have to say nearly this is that it is at to the lowest degree not A Little Piece of Sky with Kirk Cameron.

Don't write this one off...
Permit me start by saying there are no 'subconscious' messages in this motion-picture show. Everything is out in the open, from five minutes into the movie. I really hadn't expected that and it kind of lowered my expectations for a few moments, merely I'grand pleased to say that this in no way ruined the pic. It was actually kind of refreshing.
I don't think I would have called the actor who played Jesus, but he did a very practiced job just the same. At that place were some very good questions asked of him past the prideful graphic symbol named 'crusher', nigh how a loving God could allow and then much pain and hurt go on. The answers may not satisfy the critics, but that'due south probably because God doesn't work the way we do.
This motion picture does an excellent chore at revealing God'south love for each of united states and how he moves in each of our lives, whether we believe or not. A must see.

Christian propaganda and... nothing else.
I rated this moving-picture show an honest 4. The only reason it has such a high score charge per unit is considering 90% of the Earth's population believe in God and more than than ii billion in Jesus. But if you're a atheist or agnostic y'all should skip this one considering it's naught more than than a cinematographic summarization of the Bible, including the naive, child-appropriate story telling, fight betwixt God and the devil and then one. Bad acting, bad directing, scripting, furnishings and everything related to cinematographic art is bad. The way the main character talks will remind yous of a very passionate priest or pastor or Jehovah'south Witnesses on a Sun morning. The only thing I liked was the initial idea: a horror-like flick where you assemble a bunch of people in a diner on a bad weather condition and things happen... but despite a classic film where people die in terrible pain and horror, this time only practiced and wonderful things take place. But besides that, in that location is no activity, no story line, the characters are weak and flat, the ideas and philosophy are STRICTLY religious and the dialog disputes "don't stay in court". As an agnostic, I always like a good religious dispute just I was deeply disappointed this time. If you take one chance to confront God what questions volition you ask him? I accept a agglomeration of them prepared and ready simply not were heard in this motion picture, goose egg to upset the All Mighty, nothing to make the watcher think more than than she/he should. If the biblical dialogs were more than elevated and smart it would have fabricated a good religious documentary. If you lot would take the whole faith idea out, information technology could have been a good movie.

Encountering "The Come across"...
I'd heard of The Run into before, only I had never seen information technology. When I finally got around to watching information technology on Pureflix, I really enjoyed it. Bruce Marchiano's portrayal of a modern-day Jesus is warm and friendly, and gives a loving impact to the human relationship Jesus Christ desires to have with each one of the states.

Is this what Christians really want u.s.a. to know?
Alert: Spoilers
...if so, it'due south an interesting niggling slice.
Offset things first though: It'due south shot on video, the production values aren't bang-up, but there'due south some nice interior shots when we're introduced to the diner, and some skilful use of lighting (though for the most part it's a little vivid - yet that may exist intentional on the director'southward part, in an attempt to convey an temper of honesty and truth being shone on each grapheme'south circumstances).
The dialogue roams between realistic chat and very formalised spoken language, never quite settling in one place - which has the unfortunate effect of reminding the audience that we are watching a film, but we are ordinarily brought back into the suspension of disbelief in the next moment, so there's a general menses to the story.
The premise is simple; several strangers meet in a 'concluding adventure diner' where a mysterious and all-knowing owner talks to them most their lives - a theme that could easily have been ripped straight from 'The Twilight Zone', which the dialogue acknowledges with a knowing nod. And any fan of that serial tin pretty much gauge at a lot of what happens.
Then this is where we get to the bodily 'message' of the film, which seems to be non but an evangelistic tool but also a meditation for bodily Christians, because it not only looks at those exterior the flock, only also spends some fourth dimension addressing believers - and the themes it touches on range from dysfunctional spousal relationship, infidelity, ballgame, child corruption, and addiction all the way to mass genocide in the Old Testament - and when I say 'touches on', I mean it - there's a very lite impact given to each of these questions, for which some might charge the piece of work as beingness over-simplistic.
Yet the fact that the director has called to comprehend them at all, is to his credit - all of them quandaries in which the Church has been in debate with secular society for many years.
And in recognising that his audience will range from young teens to mature adults, he has attempted to give answers to all these questions as gently as an apologist may - so that everyone who watches his moving picture will have some measure out of satisfaction no thing how delicate or jaded their sensibilities are.
This is to be especially felt within the arguments i of the more troubled characters have with *SPOILER* Jesus (for yep, information technology is he - a fact that's made clear a little too soon into the film), for this more harried soul has much to contend with God about, being a survivor of abuse and suicidal depression. Non to mention the interesting dynamic between a cocky-proclaimed 'self-made' man who credits all his achievement to pride.
But at this, I'll have to refrain from much more detail lest I spoil some of the story, save to say that I think this film is worth watching, if only for the insight into how Christians think about the earth and what they believe God wants you to know about.
This is past no means a perfect film, just information technology's fascinating for all of the above reasons, so I recommend y'all accept a look.
